The morning sun is slanting on the shore of this creek, a tributary of the Miles River, in Easton, Maryland.  It is the 40th WaterFowl Festival, the second weekend in November, a celebration of the Eastern Shore traditions: goose and duck calling, labrador retrieving, and the savors of good seafood eating.  Waterfowl paintings and duck and goose carving galleries bring to a momentary standstill, a creature soon to take flight.  The geese around town liked to feed at church  and school yards while Saturday evening at Easton High School's auditorium the crowd listened to a juried competition of goose and duck callers vying  for "first" in the World Champion of Champions Contest, World Championship Goose Calling Contest, World Championship Live Goose Calling Contest, World Championship Live Duck Calling Contest, and the Mason-Dixon Duck Calling Contest.
